Sasha first came out as transgender during high school. Sasha was not a smooth transition and was unsure if thanks to his music and family Sasha would be able manage it. Jim and Sasha have both written songs and recently became an official duo. They've played in local open mics in addition to other venues. Although The Voice coaches did not reveal the story of Sasha's past, she and Jim shared their life journey in a video introduction before their performance.
